FAQs
What is matcha?
Matcha is finely ground green tea leaves grown in the shade for several weeks before harvest. This process increases chlorophyll and L-theanine, giving matcha its vibrant colour, smooth taste and calm, focused energy.
How is matcha different from regular green tea?
With matcha, you consume the whole leaf, not just an infusion. This means up to 137x more antioxidants than steeped green tea, plus more L-theanine and nutrients.
Does matcha contain caffeine?
Yes — about 70 mg per serving (roughly two-thirds of a cup of coffee). However, matcha also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that smooths the buzz and helps avoid jitters and crashes.
Will matcha make me jittery?
Most people experience calm alertness rather than jittery energy. L-theanine naturally counterbalances caffeine, helping you feel focused but relaxed.
Is matcha good for weight management?
Matcha is naturally low-calorie and contains catechins (EGCG) which may gently support metabolism and fat oxidation when combined with a healthy lifestyle.
Can I drink matcha every day?
Yes! Many people enjoy 1–2 servings daily. Because it contains caffeine, check your tolerance and consult a healthcare provider if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or have caffeine-sensitive conditions.
Is your matcha organic?
Our ceremonial matcha is grown on small Japanese farms with sustainable, chemical-conscious practices and is third-party tested for purity (pesticides, heavy metals, radiation). We only source high-grade leaves.
How do I prepare matcha?
Sift 1 tsp into a bowl or mug.
Add a splash of 70 °C water (not boiling), whisk until smooth.
Top with more water or warm milk for a latte.
Sweeten or flavour as desired.
Can I add matcha to smoothies or baking?
Absolutely — matcha keeps its nutrients in cold drinks and adds an antioxidant boost to baked goods, overnight oats, and desserts.
How should I store matcha?
Keep your pouch sealed, away from heat, light and moisture. For best flavour and nutrients, enjoy within 3 months of opening.
